SHELLS

For this fourth opus, in collaboration with Sophie Pinet , Roe Ethridge has chosen the shell. An ideal pretext for inviting us to embark on a journey with him, beyond the clichés of popular culture and art history, to evoke memories of his tender age spent by the Atlantic Ocean. But that’s not all. Through this motif, the photographer takes us to the heart of his humorous photographic work, which has never ceased to push back the boundaries between commercial commission and artistic practice, between the intimate and the collective, between a vision anchored in reality and one completely fantasized.
