Maybe I Can Breathe Here

“Maybe I Can Breathe Here,” published in 2025, is the debut publication by Tokyo-based photographer Chika Yaoita and the fourth title from LA-based Photobook Daydream Editions. Continuing Yaoita’s stream-of-consciousness style, the book features three central motifs—landscapes, abstracts, and hyper-saturated flower images—and is designed to be viewed from front to back or back to front, offering two distinct interpretations. An enclosed ribbon bookmark marks favorite pages and alludes to its paperback novel–inspired design.
